The migrant from Donetsk became a poker star: Alexei Mezhenkov stopped in a step from the WSOP bracelet

Because of the Russian invasion, Alexei Mezhenko had to leave her home in Donetsk and start life "from zero". Poker became for him the comfort that in a few years with a hobby turned into a real way of earning.

About 10 years ago, Alexei Mezhenkov played on microlimites, and now competes at the company of the best pokerists in the world. WSOP ONLINE Bracelet Series approaches its completion. It was Alexei who was able to show the best result in the series among all Ukrainian players.

Despite the high popularity of Short Deck format, tournament with bay-in 5,000 dollars gathered 145 entrances. Only 20 players claimed a part of a prize fund of $ 688,750.

The first day of the SHORT DECK CHAMPIONSHIP event was completed after 7 participants left at the table. Alexey Mezhenkov went on a 51 -stream list with 51 BB. The final table was international – players from 6 different countries claimed the bracelet.

The final lasted more than 2 hours, and half of the time was spent on hedz-up. There and met Ukrainian Alexey Mezhenkov against Austrian Benjamin Miner. Leadership went from one to the other, but in decisive handouts more lucky for a rival.

Benjamin took away the main prize and will wait for a gold bracelet WSOP. Alexei received $ 124,850 for 2nd place, which is also a great result, given the life circumstances of the Donetsk native.
