In roulette, there is a wagering device used frequently by seasoned players called a one-way D’Alembert, also known as the 1-2-3-4 Roulette System. It has a four unit ceiling and allows you to increase your bet amount a unit after each loss. This allows you to reach four unit levels, and if you don’t get a win, the series is over.
This technique gives you a rather stronger chance of winning, without compelling you to mop a huge mess if you lose. Now, once you reach the third stage, all you’re shooting for is to get all or most of your money back. Or, it simply just keeps you in the game.
Although originally designed for even money bets, the 1-2-3-4 Roulette System can be used for other bets, preferably those paying between even money and 2-1. Depending on the payoffs of your bet, it is possible to gain a profit regardless of the stage you’re at when the winning happens.
It is a wise move to be conservative at this, and be cautious about chasing anything for more than 2 or 3 stages, even with bets that pay 2-1. Over time, one learns that if you don’t catch something early, it’s a prudent move to abandon the chase, and find another opportunity elsewhere or at another time.
